In short (tl;dr)

Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium was a non-participating single premium endowment. One payment bought a sum assured from ₹1 lakh, a guaranteed ₹85 per ₹1,000 added at the end of every policy year, and life cover for 5 to 20 years. LIC has withdrawn it from sale; existing policies run on unchanged.

Worked example: at 45, ₹5,00,000 of cover over 15 years costs ₹4,69,450 as a single premium and is projected to pay ₹11,37,500 at maturity, a return of 6.08% a year.

Did you mean Nav Jeevan Shree? This page is the one-payment version, now withdrawn. If your policy is paid for over 6, 8, 10, 12 or 15 years, or you want to buy one now, that is Plan 912, which is still on sale. Open the Nav Jeevan Shree calculator (Plan 912).

What is LIC Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium?

Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium (Plan 911) was launched on 4 July 2025 alongside the regular premium Nav Jeevan Shree (Plan 912). LIC's withdrawn plans list places it among the plans withdrawn in 2026-27, so it can no longer be bought. This page is for people who already hold one and want to see what it will pay.

The arithmetic is fixed in the contract. Every policy year LIC credits a Guaranteed Addition of ₹85 for each ₹1,000 of Basic Sum Assured, for the whole term. At maturity you receive the sum assured plus those additions, so a 10-year policy pays 1.85 times the sum assured and a 20-year policy 2.7 times. LIC's own illustration: a 35-year-old paid ₹2,08,850 once for ₹2 lakh of cover over 10 years, and the maturity benefit is ₹3,70,000.

The single premium per ₹1,000 falls as the term gets longer and rises a little with age. A rebate then comes off for a sum assured of ₹2 lakh or more, and it grows with both the sum assured and the term: on a 20-year policy it is ₹43 per ₹1,000 from ₹2 lakh and ₹89 per ₹1,000 from ₹15 lakh. This calculator applies the 10 to 14 year column of that table to every term, so on very short or 20-year terms its premium can differ from LIC's by up to ₹17 per ₹1,000.

  • Loan available three months after issue

What are the benefits of LIC Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium?

What does LIC Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium pay on death?

Sum Assured on Death plus the Guaranteed Additions accrued to date, with the addition for the year of death counted in full. Under Option I the Sum Assured on Death is the higher of the Basic Sum Assured and 1.25 times the tabular single premium; under Option II it is 10 times the tabular single premium. For a child under 8 at entry who dies before the risk commences, the single premium is returned without interest. This calculator prices Option I.

What do you get at maturity?

The Basic Sum Assured plus ₹85 per ₹1,000 of Basic Sum Assured for every year of the policy term. Contractual, not a projection.

Who is LIC Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium for?

Someone who already holds a Plan 911 policy and wants the maturity figure, the death cover or the surrender position worked out.

What should you watch out for?

The plan is closed to new buyers. For a new single premium policy, LIC's current Single Premium Endowment Plan (717) or Jeevan Utsav Single Premium (883) are the nearest alternatives on this site. Surrendering a Plan 911 policy in its first three years returns 75% of the premium, plus a fraction of the additions.

What does LIC Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium cost?

Worked out on a 15-year term with premiums paid for 1 year. Change any of these in the calculator above for your own figures.

Premiums are modelled on this plan's own tabular rates. The additions on this plan are contractual rather than declared, so unlike a with-profits plan the figure does not rest on a bonus declaration.

By age, on ₹5,00,000 of cover

Sum assured moves the premium almost in a straight line, so the table above is easy to read across. Age does not, and it is the input people most often want to test before filling anything in.

50 years₹4,73,880₹4,73,880₹11,37,50065

The premium barely moves across the rows. Mortality is a small part of a savings premium and the savings part is the same at any age. What age changes is the last column: when the money arrives, and how old you are when it does.

From the source

Not modelled: this is the table LIC prints in its own brochure (Sales brochure, section 5 Sample Illustrative Premium, Option I, offline), at ₹1,00,000 of cover, the sum assured LIC chose to illustrate. Everywhere else on this page the premium is worked out for the sum assured you enter; here it is fixed at that figure, because that is what LIC published.

These figures are taken from the document linked below. Check them there.

Where the maturity figure comes from

Taken apart, on the ₹5,00,000 policy in the first table. Every line is contractual on this plan: the additions are written into the policy at a stated rate rather than declared each year, so none of this depends on how LIC's investments do.

When does LIC Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium pay for itself?

The grey line is what you have paid in by each policy year. The yellow line is what the policy has paid back by then. They cross in year 15, which is the point the policy has returned everything it cost.

LIC caps this by what underwriting allows rather than with a printed figure. This calculator accepts up to ₹5 Crore.

The calculator applies every limit above. LIC sets them out under "Eligibility Conditions and Other Restrictions" on page 3 of the Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium sales brochure, linked in the form above.

What Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium pays if you surrender

The brochure sets its own Guaranteed Surrender Value instead of the sliding grid used on regular premium plans: 75% of the single premium during the first three policy years and 90% after that, plus the accrued Guaranteed Additions multiplied by a factor that depends on the policy term and the year of surrender. The policy can be surrendered at any time, and LIC pays the higher of that and the Special Surrender Value.

Taken from the plan's own brochure rather than modelled, which is why there is no table here: LIC states the percentages for this plan outright, and a percentage of a number you already know needs no calculator.

Tax on LIC Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium

Two provisions do the work, and both turn on the size of the premium rather than on the plan. The Income-tax Act, 2025 renumbered both from 1 April 2026 without changing the rules, so each is given here under its old number and its new one.

Section 80C, now Section 123, on what you pay in

Premiums count towards the ₹1.5 lakh limit, in the year they are paid, if you are on the old regime. The deduction is restricted where the annual premium is more than 10% of the sum assured.

Section 10(10D), now Schedule II, on what comes back

Maturity proceeds are exempt where the premium in every year stays inside 10% of the sum assured, and, for a policy issued on or after 1 April 2023, where the premiums on all such policies together stay inside ₹5 lakh a year. Death proceeds are exempt either way.

Where this policy sits

The ₹5,00,000 policy priced above costs ₹4,69,450 a year, which is 93.9% of the sum assured. That is above the 10% test, so both provisions are restricted for it. A larger sum assured moves the ratio down.

GST

Nil. Individual life insurance premiums have been exempt since 22 September 2025, so the instalment the calculator shows is the amount that leaves your account.

None of this is tax advice. Which regime you are on, what else you hold and when the policy was issued all change the answer, so confirm your own position with a tax adviser before you rely on it.

How this calculator works

Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium is priced here on its own parameters, not a generic formula. We build the plan's full cash-flow schedule, meaning the death benefit in each policy year, every survival payout and the maturity value, then discount it on a basis calibrated to a reference premium for this plan. That reference is checked two ways: against LIC's published tabular rate, and against the return the plan's own benefits imply for the policyholder.

LIC Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium: frequently asked questions

Is LIC Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium still available?

No. LIC's withdrawn plans list includes Plan 911 (UIN 512N390V01) among the plans withdrawn in the 2026-27 financial year. Policies already issued continue on the terms in their policy document.

What is the maturity amount of Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium?

The Basic Sum Assured plus ₹85 per ₹1,000 for each year of the term. For ₹2 lakh over 10 years that is ₹2 lakh plus ₹1,70,000 of additions, ₹3,70,000 in all, which is the figure in LIC's own illustration. Over 20 years the same ₹2 lakh would mature at ₹5,40,000.

How much was the single premium for ₹5 lakh?

From LIC's printed rates, a 35-year-old on a 10-year term had a tabular premium of ₹1,079.25 per ₹1,000, less a rebate of ₹60 per ₹1,000 for a ₹5 lakh sum assured, which comes to ₹5,09,625. On a 20-year term the tabular rate is ₹880.40 and the rebate ₹75, giving ₹4,02,700. Buying online took off a further 2% of the tabular premium.

What is the difference between Option I and Option II?

The death benefit. Option I pays the higher of the Basic Sum Assured and 1.25 times the tabular single premium; Option II pays 10 times the tabular single premium, which is far more cover and costs more, especially at older ages. In LIC's illustration for ₹2 lakh over 10 years at age 35, Option I cost ₹2,08,850 with ₹2,69,813 of cover and Option II cost ₹2,41,690 with ₹24,80,900. Option II was open only up to entry age 40 and maturity age 60.

What is the surrender value of Nav Jeevan Shree Single Premium?

The policy can be surrendered at any time. The Guaranteed Surrender Value is 75% of the single premium in the first three policy years and 90% after that, plus the accrued Guaranteed Additions multiplied by a separate factor that rises with duration. LIC pays the higher of that and the Special Surrender Value. In LIC's illustration the ₹2,08,850 policy had a surrender value of ₹1,98,420 after one year and ₹2,61,724 after five.

Can I take a loan on a Plan 911 policy?

Yes, from three months after the policy was issued or the end of the free-look period, whichever is later. On a term under 10 years LIC lends up to 60% of the surrender value in years 1 and 2, 80% in years 3 to 5 and 90% after. On a term of 10 years or more the limits are 50%, 60%, 65% and then 70% from year 10.

How is Plan 911 different from Nav Jeevan Shree Plan 912?

Plan 912 is paid for over 6, 8, 10, 12 or 15 years and its yearly addition is a percentage of the premiums paid, 8.5% to 9.5% depending on the term. Plan 911 was paid for once and its addition is a fixed ₹85 per ₹1,000 of sum assured. Plan 912 needs a ₹5 lakh minimum sum assured; Plan 911 started at ₹1 lakh. Plan 912 is still on sale.

Can the maturity or death benefit be taken in instalments?

Yes, over 5, 10 or 15 years, paid yearly, half-yearly, quarterly or monthly. For the maturity benefit the option has to be exercised at least three months before maturity. For the death benefit the policyholder or life assured sets it up during the policy, and the nominee cannot change it. Minimum instalments are ₹5,000 a month, ₹15,000 a quarter, ₹25,000 a half-year or ₹50,000 a year.
