About LIC Calculators
An independent, free resource that shows what LIC policies actually cost and what they actually pay — with the workings visible.
Why this site exists
Searching for an LIC calculator turns up dozens of sites, and most of them share a problem: one endowment formula sits behind every page, and only the heading changes. That produces the same premium for Jeevan Anand and Jeevan Labh at the same age and term, which is wrong by about a third. It produces maturity values that ignore the Final Additional Bonus entirely. It produces money back projections that quietly forget the death benefit never reduces.
We built this because the arithmetic deserves better. Each of the 25 plans here carries its own configuration — entry age and term limits, premium paying term rule, declared bonus rates, survival payout schedule, rebate bands — and the engine builds that plan's real cash-flow schedule before pricing it.
What we are not
We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by or connected to the Life Insurance Corporation of India. We are not agents. We do not sell insurance, we do not broker it, and we do not pass your details to anyone who does. There is no lead capture form on this site and no sign-up. LIC plan names and plan numbers appear here for identification only and remain the property of their owner.
Nothing on this site is financial advice. We show how the calculations work and what the numbers come to; whether a particular policy suits your circumstances is a question for you and, if you want one, a licensed adviser.
How the calculators work
Every plan is modelled as an explicit schedule of cash flows: the death benefit in each policy year, every survival payout, and the maturity value. That schedule is discounted on a basis calibrated to a reference premium for that plan — a figure checked both against LIC's published tabular rates and against the return the plan's own benefits imply. The reference premium and the resulting discount rate are printed on every plan page, under "How this calculator works", so you can see exactly what is being assumed.
Mortality comes from a single table shared across the site, indicative of the LIC (2012-14) Ultimate table used for pricing in India, scaled per plan where the pool genuinely differs — medically underwritten term buyers, for instance, experience materially lighter mortality than the population.
The full methodology, including what we do when a figure is uncertain, is set out in oureditorial and methodology policy.
How the site is funded
At the moment, it is not. There is no advertising on the site today and nothing is being sold. The intention is to fund it through advertising, and when that happens the slots will be clearly labelled and separated from the content.
What will not change is where the money cannot come from. We do not take commission from insurers, we do not run sponsored comparisons, and no plan will ever be ranked or recommended because someone paid for it. No advertiser gets a say in what we write or how the calculators are built.
Where the honest answer is that a plan is poor value — return-of-premium term cover, for example, or annuitising an entire retirement corpus — we say so, and we say why.
Accuracy, and its limits
Every figure on this site is an estimate. We are modelling LIC's published rates, not reading from LIC's internal tables. Real premiums can differ, particularly after medical or occupational underwriting, and bonus rates are declared annually and can move.
We think the estimates here are closer than most of what is available, and we show our workings so you can judge for yourself. But before you buy anything, confirm the premium with LIC or an authorised LIC agent. Before you surrender anything, ask your servicing branch for a written quotation. Those documents bind; this site does not.
Corrections
If you have an LIC premium notice, bonus statement or surrender quotation that disagrees with a number here, we want to see it. That is the fastest way this site gets more accurate. Write to us athello@liccalculators.co.in or use the contact page, and please include the plan, age, term and sum assured so we can reproduce it.
